Specific safe work practices are instructions to guide and direct workers in the safe performance of their jobs. They outline the potential hazards associated with the work activity and how to eliminate or minimize these hazards.
HODs and Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that their crew is aware of any additional safety procedures associated with their tasks. These procedures should be communicated to workers by attaching to call sheets, discussed at safety meetings, and posted at production locations. These procedures can also be used to train employees.
Safe work practices for a variety of production activities can be found in the Production Safety Manual, Section 3 Codes of Safe Practices. In addition, the Industry Wide Safety Bulletins contain recommendations for many production activities and are available for download at www.csatf.org. All employees must follow applicable safe work practices.
