All employees involved in confined space work shall be properly trained with respect to the hazards involved in confined space operations, employee responsibilities and duties, entry permit completion, confined space entry, as well as standard operational and emergency / rescue procedures.
All employees conducting work under this program must be trained prior to beginning assigned work in confined spaces, before there is a change in their work duties, or whenever there is a change in this program or a change within the confined space which impacts the confined space work procedures. This training will allow the employee to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to safely perform work in confined spaces.
Employees shall be retrained whenever there is reason to believe there are deviations in the entry procedure or when there are inadequacies in employee knowledge of the procedure.
Employees shall receive additional training when there are changes to the procedure or when changes in the permit space present new hazards.
